Required manuscript structure

Every submission should follow this section order. This mirrors the structure used across our published issues, so following it closely reduces back-and-forth during review.

  1. TitleSentence case, bold, centered — concise and specific, ideally under 20 words.
  2. Author names & affiliationsFull names with superscript numbers linking to designation and institution.
  3. AbstractA single unbroken paragraph, 250–300 words: background, objective, method, key results, conclusion.
  4. Keywords3 to 6 terms, separated by semicolons.
  5. IntroductionBackground, problem statement, prior literature, and the study's aim.
  6. Material and MethodsStudy design, settings, participants, inclusion/exclusion criteria, variables, sample size, data analysis, ethical considerations, data collection process.
  7. ResultsFindings in prose, supported by numbered tables referenced in the text.
  8. DiscussionInterpretation of results in light of prior studies, with citations.
  9. Conclusion3–5 sentences summarizing key findings and significance.
  10. ReferencesVancouver style, numbered in order of citation, each with a working DOI/URL where available.
  11. Conflict of Interest & Source of FundingTwo short closing statements, required for every submission.

Formatting rules

  • Submit as an editable Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) file — not a PDF.
  • Use numbered superscripts for in-text citations, matched exactly to the numbered reference list.
  • Tables should be numbered sequentially (Table 1, Table 2…) with a title stating the sample size, e.g. "(N = 280)".
  • Statistical significance should be reported with exact p-values and the test used (e.g., chi-square).
  • Non-empirical papers (reviews, case studies, theoretical articles) may adapt the Material and Methods section to fit their format — contact the editorial office if unsure how to adapt a section.

What the editorial office adds

You do not need to add the journal header, footer, DOI, page numbers, or date of publication — these are applied by the editorial team after acceptance, during layout. Focus your formatting effort on content structure and completeness.

Before you submit

Cross-check your manuscript against our Publication Guidelines and Copyright & Licensing Policy before submission. Manuscripts that don't follow this structure may be returned for reformatting before entering peer review.
