Copyright & licensing policy

What rights authors keep, how published articles are licensed, and how others may reuse them.

Applies to all articles published in SCIENTIFIC JOURNAL from Volume 1 onward.

Who owns the copyright

Authors retain copyright of their own work published in SCIENTIFIC JOURNAL. At no point does the journal require authors to transfer or assign copyright ownership to us. Instead, authors grant the journal a license to publish, as described below.

License granted to the journal

By submitting a manuscript, authors grant SCIENTIFIC JOURNAL a non-exclusive license to review, edit, publish, distribute, and archive the article in print and online, and to include it in our indexing and abstracting partnerships. This license does not restrict the author's own rights to their work.

License for published articles

All articles published in SCIENTIFIC JOURNAL are open access and distributed under the following license:

Anyone may copy, redistribute, remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, including commercially, as long as appropriate credit is given to the original authors and the journal, a link to the license is provided, and any changes made are indicated.

Note: I've applied CC BY 4.0 here as the standard default for open-access journals — I couldn't find an existing license statement on your site to confirm this matches your actual policy. If you'd prefer a more restrictive license (e.g., CC BY-NC, which blocks commercial reuse, or CC BY-NC-ND, which also blocks adaptations), let me know and I'll update this page and the wording throughout.

What authors can do with their own article

Post the final published version on personal websites, institutional repositories, or academic networking sites (e.g., ResearchGate, Academia.edu), with a link to the original publication.
Include the article, in full or in part, in a thesis or dissertation.
Reuse figures, tables, or text in future work, with appropriate citation of the original publication.
Share the article freely with colleagues, students, and on social media for non-commercial academic purposes.

How others may reuse published content

Because published articles carry a CC BY 4.0 license, readers, researchers, and educators may:

Download, print, and share the article without seeking permission.
Translate, adapt, or build upon the article's content, provided the original authors and source are credited.
Use excerpts, figures, or data in their own publications or teaching materials, with proper citation.

Proper attribution should include the author name(s), article title, journal name (SCIENTIFIC JOURNAL), volume/issue, publication year, and a link to the original article.

Third-party content within articles

Where an article includes material the author does not own the rights to (such as a figure reproduced from another publisher), it is the author's responsibility to obtain permission from the copyright holder before submission, and to clearly credit the original source within the article.
